Angel Gonzalez, M.D., F.A.S.A.M.

Dr. Angel Gonzalez is an internist;. He has worked with underserved populations all his professional life, in Community Health Centers, and with the San Juan Health Care for the Homeless project. He worked with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) on the buprenorphine initiative and was Medical Director of the San Juan Methadone Program.
At present, he co-directs the San Juan Closing the Addiction Treatment Gap Alliance, does addiction medicine, and is involved in teaching and mentoring.

He is certified by the American Board of Addiction Medicine and is a fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine.
